Safwan Adam

Franchisee, CeX, Right at Home

Safwan Adam is a young entrepreneur who acquired his first franchise, CeX, at just 25. Before dedicating his life to business, Safwan studied at City University and qualified as an Aeronautical Engineer. Since then, he has successfully opened five more CeX’s across London. He has also expanded his repertoire to other fields and now runs a multi-unit company over multiple brands including Right at Home. He believes that in order to open any franchise, one needs to have a passion for the sector in question. With food being one of Safwan’s ultimate passions, it was only right for him to also open a franchise for ‘GDK’- German Doner Kebab.

Safwan believes in a strong work ethic amongst his staff and maintains a good relationship with them. ‘Success is a team sport’ is one of his strongest beliefs and, for this reason, he regularly plans team-building treats for all the staff across all three franchises.

In recent years, Safwan has been recognised for his business acumen and been invited by the Business Franchise Association (bfa) to speak regularly to inspire budding entrepreneurs.

Safwan believes that business is an ever-changing environment in which there are always new learning opportunities. He has a strong sense of responsibility towards the franchising sector and is one of the youngest members to sit on one of the bfa’s committees.

For Safwan, franchising and running a business is not a mere job, but a lifestyle. It is in the conditions of challenges, obstacles and conquests he most thrives. With the support of his business partners, he aims to grow his portfolio to include several brands all over the UK, with the objective of becoming one of the largest multi-unit and multi-brand operators in the UK.
