James Carr

James Carr is an entrepreneurial and strategic COO who has established and operated several successful businesses in the mobile retail sector. As part of the leadership team, he contributed to growing Mobile Phones Direct to a turnover of £130 million in FY19 and played a key role in its sale to AO in 2020.

As CEO, he led the transformation of a fixed-line business from a loss-making entity to one of profitability and growth. He also spearheaded the integration of the Go Mobile franchise estate into the Fonehouse portfolio, building Fonehouse into the largest network of walk-in repair stores in the UK.

Under his leadership, Fonehouse’s contact centre and franchisee estate experienced a fourfold increase in gross profit.
