TAB franchisee wins major industry award for supporting local business community

David Abbott, owner of The Alternative Board (TAB) Thames Valley West, has been named a Great British Franchisee 2023.

David beat competition from across the UK to scoop one of the coveted awards in recognition of his business leadership skills, commitment to the local community and support for fellow franchisees.

TAB is a membership model where members, who are owners of private businesses, pay a monthly investment for business advisory and coaching services.  As a TAB franchisee, David nurtures the growth of his members’ businesses, deriving immense satisfaction by facilitating positive changes.

“I am delighted to have been honoured with such a prestigious franchise industry award,” commented David.

“Authenticity, integrity and genuine concern for the wellbeing of my members and their businesses are the values upon which my business is built. My members employ around 250 people in the Thames Valley area, and I take great pride in the fact that their jobs and families are more secure as a consequence of their TAB membership and the work we do together.

“TAB is a fantastic franchise to be a part of, I feel incredibly well supported by HQ and my franchise peers.  I wholeheartedly believe TAB is making a huge difference to the SME community across the UK and I am excited to continue expanding my business across the Thames Valley region.”

Ed Reid, MD of The Alternative Board (UK) added:

“The value David gives to local business owners is phenomenal.  He’s knowledgeable, caring, empathetic, challenging and dedicated to their success.  Most importantly, his clients all think he’s an absolute class act. We know this because they just don’t leave him!  Congratulations, David, this award is thoroughly well deserved.”

Well over 2,000 UK business owners, from businesses with 5 employees to those with multi-million turnover, have benefited from TAB.  Board member revenue growth between 2020 and 2021 averaged an impressive 28.4 per cent with 80 per cent reporting their turnover had increased since joining TAB.

The Great British Franchisee Awards recognise outstanding franchisees regardless of the sector they work in or the size of their business. The judges look at each franchisee and how they perform across a range of categories; exceptional performance and business experience, ability to drive business growth, staff retention, customer satisfaction, community involvement, inspired leadership, and franchise involvement.

The Great British Franchisee Awards 2023 are run by whichfranchise, supported by Lloyds Bank, BDO, AMO Consulting, Worldpay from FIS and Chantry Group.
