Shuttercraft welcomes Liz and Martyn Evans

This month Liz and Martyn Evans are welcomed into the Shuttercraft network. They have purchased the Hastings territory and will be covering the coastline from Eastbourne to Folkestone.

Martyn was an electronics service engineer, starting as a test engineer and then progressing after four years. For the last 15 years, however, he has been working in the blinds industry selling and installing all types of blinds and conservatory roof blinds, adding surveying and installing shutters to his range of expertise nearly 10 years ago.

“An employed career was not something that interested us. We like the freedom of owning our own business with the support and guidance offered by a franchise.”

On the other side of the business, Liz has a background in law, mainly conveyancing and criminal cases before moving into retail travel, then business travel. Becoming a manager of internal services and travel management, Liz negotiated discounts on preferred routes/hotels/airlines, reviewed KPI’s and managed a front of house team of staff as well as overseeing internal services that were outsourced.

When asking if they’d offer advice to others looking to buy a franchise they said:”Just do it. You have everything to gain!”

Even more exciting for the couple is that they have purchased their own showroom/office space in preparation for their official launch this month. The showroom on London Road in Bexhill-On-Sea provides the perfect set up for Liz to manage a future office team and to store and manage stock.
