Revolutionary new equipment and technology for The Wheel Specialist

Recently we have introduced the automated Shot blaster into the network, there are now already 4 working within the network with more in production and the Franchisees are in love with this bit of kit. Drastically reducing labour costs whilst saving time during the prep process, it’s a no brainer. It’s not a compulsory bit of kit as it comes with quite a price tag but for the older franchisees its proving to be a highly worthwhile investment.

Another fantastic bit of kit we have recently approved is a wet blaster. The wheels are cleaned using a brush which delivers the water and abrasive solution. Running the brush round the wheels and in-between the spokes breaks the lacquer surface providing a keyed/soft surface ready to be coated or cut. This also can reduce turnaround time significantly as well as saving on consumable costs! Our technical director highly recommends this bit of equipment and gives it a 10/10!

We have also in the middle of trailing a new powder coating gun which has the potential to bring down paint consumption due to new technology.

We have recently been having back to back meetings with suppliers to see how we can improve our technical process, one item that has massively caught our attention is a specialist paint that can go straight onto the wheel without pre-heat. This means the Franchisee can get more wheels in and out of the oven equating to an increase in production by approx. 20%.

Another specialist paint we have been researching is a one coat system, this again can massively increase production by eliminating the need to lacquer! In the past these types of paints have been

present, but not too the quality The Wheel Specialist demands. This one appears to meet our strict requirements but trials are still in progress.

We are always on the hunt for new equipment that will give our Franchisees that advantage that keeps them one step ahead of the competition at all times.
