Radfield Home Care expands its network in Epsom & Leatherhead
Radfield Home Care has recently welcomed another new franchise partner into its ever-growing network, launching in Radfield’s Epsom & Leatherhead territory.
Stepping into the role of business owner and director is Karen Knapp.
Karen started her career as a family care worker over a decade ago supporting a foster family and later moving into the community. Karen worked to enable adults and children to maintain their independence at home. For a long time after this, her life took a different path.
She then moved into the world of finance, with a focus on mentoring and coaching her team.
She took great pride in helping team members, graduates, apprentices and colleagues to explore and reach their full potential.
Karen’s natural affinity for care and nurturing relationships makes her perfect for the home care sector, where she can help the local community age well and remain connected to what matters most.
“I loved my time as a Care Professional and, despite how well my career in finance climbed, I couldn’t shake the desire to return to a job that I loved and had a passion for. I enjoy helping and supporting people and feel so privileged to have the opportunity to return to my career roots, fulfilling a lifelong dream of spearheading a profession that provides excellent and quality care for those in the community.”
Karen comes from a family of care-related professions: psychiatric nurses, radiographers, social workers, midwives, hospital administrators and now Karen too.
“When I was 18 I loved providing support, encouragement and companionship to those I cared for. I dreamt that one day I would be able to open care and foster homes in my community that offered the excellent social care that people deserve. I strongly believe both older and younger generations have so much experience and knowledge to offer one another. By bringing them together, we can create physically active, mentally fulfilling and lasting connections in our communities. At first, this felt like a pipe dream, now, through Radfield Home Care I am taking that first step towards making a difference to the lives of those that we meet.”
Now that Karen’s dream of caring for older people has been made a reality, you can rest assured that you or your loved ones will be in capable hands, full of passion and knowledge.
Karen’s drive to provide the best possible care to older people in the community resonates strongly with Radfield’s values. The Radfield Home Care Epsom & Leatherhead office understands that great care starts with looking after Care Professionals. If our Care Professionals feel respected, valued and supported, this will reflect in the service they provide to clients.
Karen wants to provide employment opportunities and be an employer known for providing all the support required for Care Professionals, instilling family values, and ensuring the Radfield Caring for our Carers™ pledge is upheld every step of the way.
Radfield’s franchisor and founder, Dr Hannah MacKechnie said:
“We are delighted to welcome Karen into the Radfield network. Her experience in caring for and mentoring people puts her in a fantastic position to overcome some of the challenges facing the care industry and establish an exceptional home care business in the Epsom & Leatherhead area.”
Karen and her team will be delivering high-quality care services to older people within the Epsom & Leatherhead areas. With an ageing population, and the majority of home care clients being over the age of 65, Radfield Home Care’s business model specialises in servicing the growing demand of care needs for older people within the private marketplace.
