Oldham-based franchisee leads Visiting Angels to prestigious Great British Care Award win

Roxie Taj, franchisee of Visiting Angels Manchester East, has been celebrated for her outstanding commitment and expertise in the home care sector by securing the prestigious Care Innovator Award at this year’s Regional Great British Care Awards.

“It’s such a huge honour to receive this incredible award,” said Roxie. “This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire Visiting Angels team – not just myself. Our commitment to delivering person-centred care and supporting our caregivers has been at the heart of our success. We’re determined to continue raising the standards of the in-home care sector and ensuring that our clients receive the highest quality of care.”

“When I launched my Visiting Angels franchise, I was determined to raise the standards of in-home care for those who need it, after facing my own personal difficult experiences of the care system raising my daughter with Downs Syndrome. To be recognised with such a prestigious award after less than a year of operating shows just how hard we work as a team, and we feel incredibly proud of the impact that we’re having on our community and the franchise industry as a whole.”

The Care Innovator award recognises those in the care sector who have demonstrated exceptional entrepreneurial skills in identifying, developing, implementing and establishing a new service in their communities.

Roxie’s visionary approach to providing person-centred care and her unwavering support for staff in adapting to the evolving needs of service users makes Visiting Angels a truly remarkable company, providing unwavering support to both individuals and their families.

Visiting Angels’ ‘carer-centric’ approach sets it apart from other companies in the in-home care sector. Carers working for Visiting Angels feel valued and respected for their commitment to this important job. Through both financial rewards and opportunities for career development, Visiting Angels franchisees are determined to address issues surrounding the industry, which often leaves carers feeling little-to-no appreciation.

“Since Roxie joined the franchise, her business has gone from strength to strength,” said Dan Archer, UK CEO of Visiting Angels. “Her personal drive to bring excellent care to her community paired with her belief in our carer-centric ethos has proven itself a winner – and now the Great British Care Awards team think so too! Our whole Manchester East team really embody the values we built our franchise around, and Roxie is a shining example of what we strive to achieve.”
