Oakhouse Foods franchisees launch in Scottish territories

Oakhouse Foods has arrived in Aberdeen … 

The frozen ready-meals delivery service is already long established in England with a 4.7 star rating on Trustpilot, and now Grampian, North Fife and Tayside residents can experience it locally too. 

It’s all thanks to husband and wife Bruce and Jacqueline Mcleod, who launched the Aberdeen-based Oakhouse Foods franchise (the only franchised branch in Scotland) in autumn 2020. The couple were looking for a new business adventure they could develop together after Bruce was made redundant following 30-plus years in oil and gas. 

“Oakhouse Foods are big and a hugely successful brand in England, however less well-known in Scotland. We worked long to secure the franchise for Grampian, North Fife, Tayside and the Highlands and see this as a fantastic opportunity to bring the highly acclaimed name to the local area, offering a wide range of delicious quality meals with excellent friendly service and customer care” explains Bruce. 

Now they employ three staff from the business unit located at Foveran, Aberdeenshire, incorporating offices and a warehouse where all food products are stored for distribution. Although they’re officially the franchise owners for the Highlands too, for now they’re concentrating on the Tayside, North Fife and Grampian areas as they grow the business. 

Already they’re serving customers throughout the area, from Banff down to Cupar in Fife, offering a choice of over 350 delicious meals including options for breakfast, lunch’s dinner and smaller portion sizes – there really is something for everyone!

Bruce says, “We make the process of ordering with us extra easy. The customer can order either online or if they prefer to take to someone on the phone, then Jacqueline and our Telesales team welcome their call and a friendly chat. Non-contact delivery is done reliably on designated days by our local drivers direct to customers’ doorsteps, we will also put the food in the freezer if asked. 

“Our choice of dishes offers great-tasting food to suit different dietary requirements and appetites our aim is to have something perfect for everyone. We also have a wide selection of soft foods for those having Dysphagia, eating and swallowing difficulties. We also cater for vegan diets with meat-free dishes can easily be prepared in a microwave or oven so our customers can enjoy tasty, easy meals whenever it suits. We also supply essential groceries.”

All customers are welcome, but the service is of particular help to the vulnerable and those who may be housebound, ensuring they get regular, tasty and nutritionally balanced meals. It’s also very popular with the elderly – a demographic age croup that is set to rise exponentially over the next 15 years, meaning the Oakhouse Foods Aberdeen business will one providing an important service over the coming years.
