Meet the Wingers’ Team
Wingers, the Chicken Wing company has expanded and recently successfully launched as a franchise. Meet the team behind the brand who support franchisees on their journey to build a profitable Wingers franchised restaurant.
Bill Sunner, Co-founder of Wingers. Bill’s background is in sandwich shops which he ran successfully before the pandemic. Bill originally came up with the idea of the Wingers concept and now works closely with sons Amran and Dylan to support franchisees and expand the brand from a strategic point of view.
In his spare time, Bill likes to visit the restaurants and at home, work on a bit of DIY and in the garden.
Amran Sunner, Co-founder of Wingers. Initially Amran ran the Lichfield restaurant with his brother Dylan and his mum Jas and the help of two managers who used to work in the previous family business. Now, although Amran still responsible for Lichfield, he manages operations and also works on the expansion of the franchise with Dylan and Bill. Amran also gets involved with franchisee training and marketing the business.
In his spare time, Amran enjoys weightlifting and has a big passion for car track days! He is a BIG Manchester United fan, which is why Wingers is red of course!
Dylan Sunner, Co-founder of Wingers. Dylan is in charge of the numbers! This means ensuring franchisees are up to date with costs and they are working to the correct margins to ensure a good profit. It also means helping them reach each of their targets and spot if anything within their cost base needs adjusting early. Dylan is also involved in identifying and selecting new Wingers sites for franchisees in addition to being involved in training new franchisees and their staff too.
Franchisees usually spend four weeks training at Wingers’ Lichfield restaurant. Then, when a new Wingers opens up, Dylan is also hands on in the new unit for the first couple of weeks to ensure everyone is up to speed.
In Dylan’s spare time he enjoys boxing training, five-a-side football plus going to the gym early before work, to set him up for the day ahead.
Jas Sunner: Jas is highly experienced in catering and a level 4 food hygiene qualified, she leads on design and good practice. Jas was instrumental in menu selection and testing. As you might guess, in her spare time Jas likes cooking!
Anthony Round, Business Development. Anthony has a unique insight into what it takes to launch a franchised quick service restaurant (QSR) brand. In fact, Anthony has worked in the franchise industry for over 30 years, with great brands like Dominos Pizza, Papa Johns, Yum brands GDK, and the COOP. Experienced working in both in Development and Operational Roles, franchising is Anthony’s passion, and he loves the challenge of matching great people with great brands, then seeing them develop into highly skilled and very effective multi-site operators.
At the weekends Anthony likes to dust off his vintage MGB (known as Betty) and take it for a spin when weather allows, with his bulldog Nelly.
