Introducing the Successful Swedish Retail Concept Indiska to the UK

The Swedish retail group, Indiska, has recently announced its intention to enter the UK market through its franchise channels.

With more than 100 years of retail experience, Indiska is a unique lifestyle retail chain that sells a mix of women’s fashion and homeware in 100 stores in Northern Europe. After a successful market entrance in Germany in 2014, there are now plans to introduce the English customers to the Bohemian Modern lifestyle brand. Given the English popularity of Scandinavian design and the historical links with the Orient, Indiska is looking forward to introducing this exiting concept to the new UK market.

Bohemian Modern lifestyle

The lifestyle brand, Indiska, offers a unique blend of fashion, accessories and homeware. With its distinctive assortment, Indiska wants to share its passion for India, Indian handcrafts, colours and materials with new customers. Oriental influences are combined with Scandinavian design traditions and global trends. This combination results in a unique Indiska style and appearance.

About Indiska

The Swedish family business, Indiska, was founded in 1901. The management is now in the hands of the second and third generation of the Thambert family. In 2015, Indiska is operating nearly 100 stores in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland and Germany and also has its online presence through Indiska Shop Online.

Franchise

The Indiska stores are located primarily in shopping malls and busy city centres. On the average the stores are about 180-225 square meters. In the UK, Indiska wants to operate stores through franchise channels. From its headquarters Indiska supports the franchisees with store design, purchasing, training and concept education, as well as with local marketing.
