Home Instead’s Ruth Brown named new bfa Northern Forum Chair

Home Instead Senior Care is pleased to announce that Ruth Brown, Head of Franchise Development, has been named the new Chair of the British Franchise Association’s (bfa) Northern Forum.

The bfa hosts six member forums across the UK, with each forum chair forming part of the bfa’s wider governance structure. Each forum Chair also hosts three annual regional meetings in order to provide members with opportunities to network and share best practice.

The bfa’s naming of Ruth Brown as Northern Forum Chair comes as a result of over 17 years’ hard work and dedication to the franchise sector. Ruth first entered franchising in 2002 after graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University.

In 2006 she was appointed Franchise Recruitment Manager at Thorntons, where she was responsible for the growth of the Thorntons franchise network.

She joined Home Instead Senior Care in 2010 as Head of Franchise Development and is also on the Senior Leadership Team. Over the last nine years she has recruited more than 180 franchisees into the Home Instead network for new territories as well as re-sales.

Speaking about the announcement, Ruth said: “I’m delighted to be named Chair of the bfa’s Northern Forum. I’m passionate about franchising and I’ve seen first-hand the positive impact it can have on the lives of individuals, families and communities.

“In my capacity as Chair I’ll have opportunities to engage with like-minded professionals who share my passion. Together we’ll be able to use our skills and experience to promote the excellent work of the bfa and engage other franchises for the benefit of the entire network.”

Martin Jones, Managing Director of Home Instead Senior Care, said: “We’re delighted that the bfa has named Ruth as their Northern Forum Chair. She has had a tremendous impact on the franchise sector to date and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise that other bfa members can benefit from.

“Ruth is a true ambassador for franchising and I have no doubt that she will demonstrate the same passion, dedication and commitment in her capacity as Chair of the bfa Northern Forum as she does day in, day out at Home Instead.”
