Franchise footie eclipses World Cup
Whilst the football world’s attention is on Russia right now, sneaking in just ahead of the big kick-off in Moscow, was leading transport & logistics’ recruitment franchise, Driver Hire’s own football tournament. However, rather than Volgograd, this one was played out in Tamworth.
Organised by Driver Hire Gatwick’s franchisee, Nic Chaviaris, and his office team, along with 90 minutes of non-stop goalmouth action, the aim of the day was to raise money for Driver Hire’s Benevolent Fund. It undoubtedly scored in both departments with just shy of £3,000 raised for an excellent cause.
The match pitched a Driver Hire XI, consisting of players from around Driver Hire’s nationwide network against a Driver Hire Group Services/Paystream squad. The latter is one of Driver Hire’s key service suppliers.
As promised there were goals galore with the Driver Hire XI running out winners by 9 goals to 4. There was then a penalty shootout contested by players and spectators. The winner collected a Kindle Fire for achieving what England regularly fail to do in international competition.
Now into its 34th year of trading, Driver Hire is the UK’s largest specialist supplier of staff to the road transport and logistics industry. Driver Hire provides temporary and permanent Drivers and other logistics staff to local and national organisations in both the public and private sectors. If they’re short of staff – perhaps because of illness, holidays or seasonal demand – Driver Hire will supply them with a suitable replacement.
