Driver Hire Franchisee Collects National Award
Vance and Sue Parsons owners of leading transport and logistics recruitment franchise, Driver Hire Hereford & Worcester have won the ‘New Franchisee of the Year’ category in this year’s ‘Startups awards’.
Now into their eleventh year, the ‘Startups awards’ are run by Startups.co.uk, an online platform for people new to the world of self employment. The awards recognise the success of Britain’s newest businesses which have been trading for less than three years.
The judges were looking for franchises started in the last three years, which are already exceeding targets and delighting their customers.
Clearly that’s exactly what Sue, Vance and colleague Rhys Horton are doing. From a standing start a year ago they’re now finding regular work for around 40 drivers. As a result they’re well on their way to beating their 2014/15 business plan by 20%.
“Vance and I are both surprised and delighted to win this award,” says Sue Parsons. “We have customers who come back to us week in, week out. That speaks volumes about our ability to deliver good drivers, great service and value for money.
You’ve got to work hard, but if you follow their recipe for success, this is the result!”
But our success also says a lot about Driver Hire’s business model.”
David Lester, founder of Startups.co.uk, commented: “Congratulations to Driver Hire (Hereford and Worcester) for a deserved win in a very hard-fought category. They’ve achieved seriously impressive growth since purchasing the franchise in mid-2013. Buying into an existing and successful brand may seem simple to some, but each of the finalists in this category demonstrated just how vital the entrepreneurial drive and ability of the individual franchisee is. Each one has grown beyond expectation in a very short time.”
