In total visitors accumulated over 3,500 hours of physical activity, or over 211,000 minutes, increasing physical activity by over 43% compared to an ordinary Wednesday. Anytime Fitness also saw an uplift of 15% in footfall to its clubs compared to standard usage, due to its open day activities.

“National Fitness Day helped bring together our clubs to celebrate one of our favourite days of the year,” said Neil Randall, CEO of Anytime Fitness UK. “They all played their part in helping people get active in their local communities, some of which were setting foot in a health club for the first time. It was great to see the healthy competition between the clubs and celebrate the importance of being active as part of our overall health.”

2021 marked the tenth anniversary of National Fitness Day, an annual event by ukactive to celebrate the inclusivity of physical activity. ukactive want the UK to become the most active nation in the world by 2030, with National Fitness Day bringing everyone together to celebrate the importance that physical activity plays in helping us lead healthier lifestyles.
