In April 2024, Gootopia embarked on an exciting venture beyond the shores of the UK, opening its first international franchise in the picturesque St Paul’s Bay, Malta. This strategic expansion was led by the dynamic duo, Daniel Chircop and Chrysander Aguis, popularly known in Malta as the local equivalent of the beloved British comedy pair, Ant & Dec. Their entry into the Gootopia family marked a significant milestone for our brand’s global outreach.
Background: Daniel and Chrysader, both prominent figures in the Maltese entertainment industry, were seeking a new venture that would allow them to channel their creativity and love for engaging with the community, particularly young families and children. The concept of Gootopia, with its fun, educational, and family-oriented business model, resonated deeply with them, making it the perfect fit.
Opening and Operations: The Gootopia franchise in St Paul’s Bay quickly became a local sensation, attracting children and families from across the island. Located conveniently in a popular family area, the venue was designed to maximize engagement with a vibrant, inviting decor that mirrors the joy and excitement of slime-making.
Expansion Plans: Buoyed by their success in St Paul’s Bay, Daniel and Chrysader are now planning to expand their operations to a larger venue in Marsaskala by the end of 2024. This new location is aimed at accommodating larger groups and expanding the reach of Gootopia’s educational and entertaining workshops across Malta.
