Spanish real estate franchise: the latest property market trends

If you’re thinking of starting a real estate franchise in Spain, then read on!

According to a report published by Spanish real estate valuation and consultancy group Tinsa, the average price of a resale or new-build property in Spain increased by 3.6% in May 2017 compared with the same month the previous year. The report also states the average price of real estate in Spain is now at the level it was in December 2013.

The regions fuelling this growth are the provincial capitals, major cities and the Mediterranean coast. The prices of residential properties in cities increased by 6.1% in May 2017, compared with May 2016, while prices along the Mediterranean coastline grew by 4.1%.

Property values also increased in the Balearic Islands and Canary Islands, with annual growth of 2.9% and 2.2% respectively. These regions also saw the smallest decrease in porperty prices over the past 10 years, with the Balearic Islands at 27.7% and the Canary Islands at 35.9%.

The average national price of real estate in Spain increased by 3.4% in the first five months of 2017. With a 6.1% increase over the start of 2017 compared with the end of 2016, prices on the Mediterranean coast lead these figures.

Real estate experts in Spain believe that the years of falling property prices are long gone. The property market in Spain continues to attract interest, especially from investors. The economic and employment situations in the country are improving, helping to fuel this interest.
