10 years and counting for Nigel Lomax

Nigel Lomax and his team at TaxAssist Accountants are celebrating 10 years serving the small business community from their shopfront office in Sundorne, Shrewsbury.

Nigel Lomax set up TaxAssist Accountants in Shrewsbury in 2003, working from an office on Battlefield Enterprise Park. The business moved to its current premises on Sundorne Avenue in 2007 and now advises nearly 650 clients across the region. The team is looking to boost the eight-strong team with the appointment of an apprentice member in the coming weeks.

Nigel Lomax commented: “We’re thrilled to be celebrating our 10th anniversary here in Sundorne and it is a great achievement for myself and the team. The small business community has been through some tough times, but it’s great to see how they rally round and support one another. We’d like to thank them for their support; word-of-mouth recommendations have really helped us see client numbers grow year-on-year.

“Over the years, we’ve developed a reputation locally for our jargon-free advice and the support we give small businesses and start-ups to achieve their goals. With Cloud accounting now our specialty and ‘Making Tax Digital’ changes on the horizon, we’re already seeing an increased demand from small businesses starting to prepare for the new tax regime and bringing everything online. It’s been a fantastic journey since 2003 and we are looking forward to dealing with the major changes in our profession in the next few years.”
