Constructing the perfect business for your future
Build the perfect business for your future, by utilise your existing skills
When Mike Andrews first joined the Auditel network in 2004, he knew he could harness his own existing skills to help him build a successful business.
Mike had been working for a large construction company, before moving to a smaller, multi-disciplinary design consultancy. This move brought him a clear insight into what was involved in being a business owner.
Since 1994, Auditel has established a successful network of business management specialists, who work closely with FDs, CEOs, and business owners throughout the UK. They deliver new perspectives and insights to drive change and increase profitability, competitiveness and growth, becoming invaluable, outsourced board level members of the companies they serve.
“I chose Auditel because it really suited my existing skillset. I wanted to run my own business and I knew that I wanted to do so within the excellent framework that Auditel provide,” Mike says.
The benefits of franchising, for your business start-up
Franchising offers the freedom to grow your own company, using a successful tried-and-tested model, removing many of the unknowns associated with starting a business. Being part of a franchise network also means there is always someone prepared to advise and support you in your venture. So, it’s your own business but you are never completely on your own.
The benefits of investing in a franchise, such as Auditel, enabled you to take control of your future career path. Before deciding to join Auditel, Mike considered various options: “I considered property-to-let, but felt it was very capital intensive and too high risk. I also considered starting a business from scratch with a friend. But realised I would rather set-up a business with a well-trodden path, rather than setting up on my own, so chose to take out a franchise instead.”
With a wide-ranging choice of franchise opportunities available, Mike researched the market thoroughly to find what would be most appropriate for him, factoring in his work background and the specialist skills he’d acquired. The appeal and structure of Auditel, and the success they’ve achieved over the past 22 years, provided Mike with the confidence he required to make the investment. It also satisfied his desire for a perfectly balanced work-life future. Mike explains, “Having a degree in Construction Management, I was very much into managing projects, and business development; but I also knew my experience of dealing with and helping clients at various stages lends itself well with their business model. I like the training and support I receive, and being part of a nationwide network. I like that the Auditel model enables us to build robust and interactive relationships with our clients.”
Collaborating with the network
Auditel’s franchisee network boasts a comprehensive mix of skills, expertise and knowledge. In fact, one of their principal successes, is their ability to build project teams via joint venturing within the network.
“The great thing about Auditel,” Mike explains, “is that we are not constrained by geography, and we’re not competitive. There is another Auditel franchisee about a mile away from me, and we work on a lot of joint-venture projects together – in fact, he is usually my first point of contact with a new client. He has a very different skill set to me, which is complimentary. And we work well together. This is one of the most attractive aspects of the Auditel business-model.”
Finger-on-the-pulse advancement
The ongoing mentoring and development programme Auditel provides for all its franchisees, through one to one tailored training and support backed up by the annual conference, regular workshops, webinars and quarterly meetings, are designed to build success for its franchisees. Mike affirms, “This is crucial for my clients, so they feel confident they have an outsourced specialist with his finger on the pulse in me.”
