Subway store opens at West Middlesex Hospital with ISS
Subway and ISS, a global leading facility services provider, are pleased to announce the opening of a new Subway store at West Middlesex University Hospital.
Located in the food hall at West Middlesex Hospital, the new store offers patients and visitors access to a menu of freshly prepared Subs, wraps and Salads, all customised to each guest’s preference. Its opening has created 10 new jobs, providing employment for the local community.
The new store at West Middlesex Hospital marks the second to be opened by ISS in the UK, following the first store at University Hospital Coventry, which opened in 2017.
The partnership with ISS underpins Subway’s commitment to providing nutritious, fresh and convenient food options in non-traditional locations. Subway currently has more than 15 stores at hospital locations throughout the UK and Ireland, all of which meet the relevant criteria relating to food and drink sold on NHS premises for the 2017-2019 CQUIN (Commissioning for Quality and Innovation) targets.
Colin Hughes, Country Director for Subway UK and Ireland, commented: “We are delighted to see ISS open its second Subway store in the UK, strengthening our partnership further. ISS shares the Subway passion for serving quality, delicious food, along with a key focus on providing excellent customer service. The new store at West Middlesex Hospital allows us to widen our brand reach in hospital locations, and provides patients, visitors and staff with nutritious meal options throughout the day.”
ISS is a leading global provider of facility services, including catering services at healthcare locations, education establishments and business and industry sites.
Glynn Ford, Franchise and Brand Manager for ISS, added: “Subway is an ideal partner for our Healthcare business, as we know our staff and visitors are looking for a fresh and healthy option during all parts of the day. With Subway’s innovative menu, we can always meet our customers’ expectations.”
The new store also features Subway’s Fresh Forward décor, offering guests with an enhanced brand experience, a bright new colour palette and clean lines.
Ford continued: “The West Middlesex Hospital store will be the first Fresh Forward Subway store for ISS in the world – we have great excitement within our business and look forward to opening more stores globally.”
Through its partnerships, such as with ISS, Subway now has more than 800 stores in non-traditional locations in the UK and Ireland, including hospitals, transport hubs, universities and colleges, petrol forecourts and convenience stores.
With more than 2,500 Subway stores open across the UK and Ireland and over 43,000 stores in over 110 countries, Subway is the world’s largest sandwich franchise.
