Kare Plus celebrates franchise owner success with first ever award ceremony
The UK’s most established multi-service healthcare franchise Kare Plus hosted its first ever Annual Conference and Award Ceremony this weekend – recognising and celebrating the success of its franchise network over the last 12 months.
The all-day event consisted of motivational and industry expert speakers, networking opportunities with franchise owners and suppliers and, the pinnacle of the event, an evening award ceremony and celebration dinner.
With a surge in CQC home care registrations, over one million hours of care provided and multiple industry awards won during the last 12 months, there were many franchise owners nominated for awards on the evening in categories including marketing, newcomers, community initiatives, branch staff, head office staff, regional franchise owners and an overall franchise owner of the year – voted for live on the night.
Four-time territory owner Sheel Phakey won three awards on the night; Kare Plus Ambassador of the Year, Southern Region Franchise Owner of the Year and Overall Kare Plus Franchise Owner of the Year. He was overwhelmed with his recognition and the entire evening at the 4* Telford Golf and Spa Resort, but believes it is his branch’s caring ethos that has led him to such success: “We are a care business, and the word ‘care’ comes before the word ‘business’. Our branch has always operated to that ethos and always will – we believe if we focus on providing the right care, the business will come itself.
We try and go the extra mile and we have very stringent recruitment criteria. Myself and many others in the branch have elderly parents, and we bear this in mind when we’re recruiting people to go out and care for the elderly in the community. If we don’t think we would like them to look after our parents, would others want them looking after theirs?”
The Kare Plus network is now looking forward to another strong 2017, with further growth, additional service offerings and more records set to be broken – all of which will be guided with quarterly network meetings, and increased support team and continued research and development.Another stand out winner from the evening was Kare Plus Payroll Manager and longest standing member of staff, Linda Alexander. Following nominations earlier in the year, multiple franchise owners requested Linda win the Head Office Support Person of the Year Award, for her outstanding 20-year effort assisting franchise owners with their staff payroll. Account Manager, Kit Madahar said: “Linda was in complete shock to win this award. She has been with Kare Plus for 20 years this year and is the longest standing member of staff, always on hand to assist franchise owners with one of the most important aspects of their business.”
