Ex-butcher gives his old job the chop to take on Dream Doors franchise

EX-BUTCHER Kevin Groves gave his old job the chop so he could take on a Dream Doors franchise and spend more time with his family.

After training to be a butcher in his youth, Kevin later became a health and safety officer for a multi-national corporation, inspecting factories around the world.

But, by his own admission, a love of international travel can ‘wear off’ so he started looking for an opportunity to work closer to home and his loved ones.

Kevin, 57, said: “I was working for a big multi-national corporation in Bristol, but I was at a crossroads at that point and I wanted to come back up north.

“I had an opportunity to take redundancy and it fitted for family reasons – my daughter was pregnant at the time.

“For me it was a question of: ‘What am I going to do in life? I’m not ready to retire just yet.’”

Prompted by a love of woodwork and home renovation, Kevin sought out Dream Doors, the UK’s #1 kitchen makeover firm, to see what opportunities were available.

He said: “I had heard about Dream Doors years previously, so I kind of went out looking for them. “When I approached Dream Doors to see if there were opportunities in this area, it turned out the local showroom was on the market, so it all kind of fell into place.

“It was exactly the area my wife Jackie and I wanted to be in.”

With Dream Doors, Kevin found an opportunity to be close to his family and earn good money with the backing of a well-respected, award-winning brand.

He said: “Franchising with Dream Doors is one of the best ways of going into business for yourself. “Dream Doors is very professional and has a very well thought out business model.

“There’s lots of support available.

“There’s a reason why they are very high up on the list of franchises that are the most successful and reputable. They really are at the top of their industry.

“I wanted a career that allows me to be at home with my family – that’s what this business does for me.”

Dream Doors is looking for more talented franchisees like Kevin who are ready to generate huge profits by representing an industry-leading brand.

There are just 19 new franchise territories available nationwide, particularly in the North East, North West, Yorkshire and Scotland.
