BFA launches new QFC Qualified Franchise Coach programme

The BFA (British Franchise Association) has launched a new Qualified Franchise Coach programme.

Founded in 1977, the BFA is the hub of franchising in the UK. The association not only showcases the opportunities for businesses and individuals to transform their lives through franchising but also provides an educational space and accreditations, governed by high standards and their code of ethics.

The QFC programme is an accredited coaching methodology, developed by leading franchise training company Franchology and the BFA Academy. The programme, which is divided into eight modules, is recommended for both franchisors and franchisees and anyone in the franchise sector who wishes to improve their skills and demonstrate their commitment to raising the bar of coaching in the franchise sector. Crucially, it also pledges to improve franchise relationships and performance at every level.

A sister programme to the highly successful QFP, Qualified Franchise Professional programme, which has successfully trained over 203 candidates since its launch in 2011, the new QFC programme will address the unique challenges that exist between franchisors and franchisees using the ‘Coaching with Compassion’ methodology, which draws on experience, research, neuro and behavioural science, to help the coachee achieve lasting change.

The QFC programme has been accredited by the Universal Coaching Alliance (UCA), a specialist global coaching body which has a code of professional conduct and ethics, aligned with the BFA’s own code of ethics. Completing the QFC programme will achieve 600 Academy Points towards a candidate’s CPD records.

Gains to be expected from the programme include, significantly improved franchisor/franchisee relationships and performance, improved attraction and retention of high-quality franchisees and employees and the ability to engage in positive exit strategy coaching conversations, reducing the risks and costs associated with disputes and litigation.

Pip Wilkins, CEO of the BFA said:

“I am so proud of this new programme, developed by our dedicated Academy team and Franchology, that will benefit the entire franchise sector. We have irrefutable proof that franchising success comes from a great relationship between a franchisor and a franchisee and we are delighted to be launching this brand new programme, that we know will be such a great help to so many brands and individuals across the sector. Our QFP qualification has been a huge success, and we fully expect the QFC programme to be just as popular, as we equip our members with the finest educational tools to ensure the success of their businesses and brands.”
