What the Merry Maids Brand Leader looks for in a Franchise Partner

In order to maintain brand integrity, we carefully select the franchise partners who are to join our brand by inviting prospective business owners to an interview with our Merry Maids Brand Leader, Steve Morris.

We asked Steve, 5 questions to help prospective business owners qualify themselves to join:

Q. Describe the characteristics of the most successful franchisees in your network.

A. The most successful franchisees are those who are hungry for success and who recognise the advantage that using a recognised brand and a proven business model can bring in a busy market place

Q. What skills/attributes do you look for in a franchise partner?

A. Entrepreneur. A general understanding of what running a small business is all about. Good communication skills.

Q. What personality do you look for in a franchise partner?

A. Communicative, pro-active, ambitious.

Q. What experience is required?

A. No previous cleaning experience is required as all training and support is provided by ServiceMaster and the network of business holders. However, some knowledge of the various elements of business management would be beneficial.

Q. What is a ‘red flag’ for joining your brand?

A. Always remember that you are in franchising for yourself and not by yourself. Therefore, whilst you are not completely on your own, running your own business is hard work so franchising is not for people who think that the franchisor does everything!

Do you think you have what it takes to become our next Merry Maids Franchise Partner?
