BFA supports franchisors during Children’s Activities Week 2024

The BFA (British Franchise Association) is supporting its members with a free marketing campaign during Children’s Activities Week 2024 which takes place from the 13th to the 19th of May 2024. They are also Supporter Sponsors of the event.

Children’s Activities Week, the UK’s largest annual celebration of children’s activities, is run by What’s on 4 Kids and supports the work of Caudwell Children, a charity dedicated to increasing equal access and opportunities for disabled and autistic children, across the country. The theme for this year is #WatchMeFly.

According to figures recently announced by ICAP (Institute of Children’s Activity Providers), the UK children’s activity sector is worth £17.7 billion, and the average annual spend per child on extra curricula classes is £1,400. 70% of providers surveyed, anticipate business growth of at least 5% in the coming year.

The BFA, founded in 1977, is regarded as the hub of franchising in the UK. They not only showcase opportunities for businesses and individuals to succeed through business format franchising, they also offer educational courses and accreditations. All BFA members are governed by a strict Code of Ethics and are expected to run their businesses in line with the very high standards set by the association. The BFA were also Ceremony Sponsors for the What’s On 4 Kids awards in November 2023.

Pip Wilkins, CEO of the BFA explained: “We are pleased to be Supporter Sponsors of Children’s Activities Week 2024 and to be providing our franchisors with this free marketing campaign to run alongside it. Children’s franchises make up a significant percentage of our members, and we wanted to do something to support them during this key event in their calendar.”

“Whether it is music and dancing or sports and computers, kid’s activity businesses do very well as franchises, thanks to British parents recognising the indisputable benefits extracurricular classes make to their child’s development. In turn, the prominence of these brands attracts a wealth of highly motivated franchisees, looking to build their own successful businesses based on tried and tested franchise methods. It really is a ‘win-win’ on both sides.”
“We are delighted to be supporting our members with this free marketing campaign showcasing not only their businesses but in recognition of the event’s nominated charity, Caudwell Children, the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities initiatives that each of them offers.”

“The campaign we have put together, which is completely free of charge to all BFA members, will consist of a press release, a new web page on the BFA website to host all their wonderful stories, a feature in the BFAmagazine, a social media campaign, a PPC and Google ads online advertising campaign and a digital advertising campaign on the Metro, The Times and Telegraph online. Being part of the BFA is so much more than a badge on a franchise’s website, it is about working together, supporting our franchisors and introducing the franchising concept to those who may not have come across it before. We hope they all have a great week and hope the campaign helps them make new, fruitful connections.”
