In Home Care has launched its 1st franchise in Hertford which will offer consistent high quality of care to vulnerable adults

In a 2016 report by the National Audit Office*, 28% of people aged 65 and over said they needed help with daily living activities in the previous month. Less than half (12%) said they received help with those activities. In the State of Care** report by the Care Quality Commission, good adult care is inconsistent and is often determined by how well different parts of local systems work together and the type of support required.

In Home Care is a British owned domiciliary care provider with three branches across Hampshire and West Sussex. Despite starting in the care industry only six years ago, a Care Quality Commission rating of ‘Outstanding’ has been achieved by one branch and two have been rated ‘Good’. The business prides itself on looking after vulnerable adults with dignity and respect, whilst also ensuring that care staff are provided with recognition, appreciation, great rates of pay and professional development. Care for carers is critical as the lack of local staff is a major problem in the care industry as a whole

Sukhi Dhillon, Head of the Hertford franchise, explained, “I’ve always felt a need to contribute to my local community in whichever way I can. For the last 8 years I have enjoyed being a Parent Governor at our local primary school, continuing this role even after my children left. After 25 years of work in the technology industry, I now feel strongly that I can and should make a difference to people’s lives in my community. Care in the comfort of your own home makes an enormous difference to people’s lives regardless of their age or disability and as such, I have joined forces with In Home Care”.

He added, “My experience in technology across both private and public sector organisations will be put to good use as it will allow us to implement the most appropriate technical solutions to support individual care needs, where and when it is required”.

Paul Reynolds, Director of In Home Care said, “More than a million people over 65 live in areas in England where there are no care home beds. A study commissioned by Age UK found that large swathes of the country were “care deserts” lacking residential care or nursing homes so in-home care has become a critical service in the overall provision of nationwide care. There is also a distinct lack of services for adults with learning or physical disabilities”.

He explained, “Our national franchise strategy will provide a consistent quality of care backed up by our continuous support with a dedicated franchise manager to assist with recruitment, continuous training and marketing. Specific support is provided for CQC registration, procedural and operational systems and our proven blueprint will ensure branch success and the reinforcement of what the In Home Care brand represents for outstanding domiciliary care”.

Mayor of Hertford, Councillor Rosemary Bolton added, “Providers of in-home care are making such a difference to the health and well-being of communities nationwide, giving them options that may not have previously been available to them. The In Home Care franchise is a welcome addition to our existing range of care services”.
