Anytime Fitness Director of Franchising shortlisted for ‘Mentor Of The Year’ at Northern Power Women Awards

Sue Moore commended for dedication to mentoring outside of her day-to-day role and championing gender diversity

Sue Moore, Director of Franchising at leading fitness franchise Anytime Fitness UK, has been nominated in the prestigious ‘Mentor of the Year’ category at the Northern Power Women Awards. With over 700 eligible nominees, the category recognises businesswomen who have positively shaped the success of individuals and championed the value of mentoring outside of their day-to-day role.

With over 30 years’ experience in franchising, Sue is passionate about mentoring and encouraging diversity, particularly within franchising and the fitness industry.  Her relationship with Northern Power Women, a connected network of more than 70,000 people founded by Simone Roche, enables Sue to pay it forward through their mentoring opportunities.  Sue has successfully mentored, coached and supported more than 100 women and men, many of whom are successful entrepreneurs. With a wealth of contacts and experience, she shares her knowledge and skills with a number of women throughout the year and helps open doors to the opportunities available to them.

The winner of the award, alongside ten other categories, will be announced at a prestigious gala awards night being held at Manchester Central on 21st March 2022.

“I’m incredibly proud and humbled to be nominated for the Mentor of the Year award,” said Sue. “I have so much passion for championing diversity in leadership and supporting young people to achieve their ambitions and find their passion. It’s so rewarding to play a small role in nurturing the next generation of business leaders. My experience working with women in the franchise sector is that women are very willing to share the benefit of their experience and help support other women to succeed.  Organisations like Northern Power Women exist to help us all pay it forward, build nurturing communities, share knowledge and network incredibly effectively to drive positive change.

“With my role at Anytime Fitness, I’m proud to be part of a business that shares my views on championing diversity. I’m fortunate to have the opportunity to champion women in business in both my day-to-day role, through my entrepreneurial contacts and with Northern Power Women and I am committed to supporting women, entrepreneurs and young people to achieve their goals and in turn consider mentoring others when the opportunity arises.”

Sue’s appointment at Anytime Fitness last year alongside Director of Finance, Sarah Evans, has achieved a 50/50 gender split within the franchise’s executive team. It has also enjoyed an influx of new women franchisees into the network in the past 12 months.
