Visiting Angels brings new care provider to the North Shropshire community

After years of gathering extensive and diverse experience in both the care sector and in business, it is the strongly rooted family values that has brought Mark Goodall and Nicky Sealey to North Shropshire as they embark on a new journey in the social care sector. With the launch of their new in-home care company, Visiting Angels, Mark and Nicky hope to raise the standards of the care industry in their community, both for care staff and for those who receive care in their own homes.

Nicky Sealey, co-director and Registered Care Manager of Visiting Angels North Shropshire is delighted to be joining a care provider that delivers on the promises that it makes to its clients, and who affords its staff with an equal amount of care to those in need. Operating in the care industry since 2007 and having worked for some of Visiting Angels’ key competitors, the opportunity to join a brand trailblazing the modern social care industry was one Nicky couldn’t pass up on. Now, with a chance to align her own values and experience with a leading care provider’s mission, Visiting Angels North Shropshire is already delivering high quality, person-centred social care to vulnerable members of the community.

“I began my journey in the care industry as a member of staff in a care home. The hours were so unsociable, and the duties we had to perform in such a short amount of time put a huge amount of pressure on us as carers. Seeing the impact this had on the wellbeing of carers, combined with the unfair pay that is so common in the industry, has led me to this point in finding Visiting Angels.

I feel hugely grateful and very well prepared to be showing people the true standards that the care industry should be meeting with a leading brand in the in-home care sector. Visiting Angels’ unique approach in caring for its staff as much as those in need is something all care brands should be practicing in the modern world – especially after seeing the impact COVID had on those who work in the industry. Visiting Angels’ commitment to allowing for minimum one-hour visits resonated with me hugely – this allows for the delivery of our services to be enjoyed to the fullest.

There is still so much work to be done in the social care sector, and I’m so excited to be entering this new chapter with Visiting Angels, who as a brand, are well equipped to be showing communities exactly what in-home care should look like.”

Visiting Angels’ ‘carer-centric’ approach sets it apart from other companies in the home-care sector. Carers working for Visiting Angels can feel valued and respected for their commitment to the industry. Through both financial rewards and opportunities for career development, Mark, Nicky and the Visiting Angels team are determined to address existing issues surrounding the industry, which often leaves carers feeling little-to-no appreciation.

With the care industry being a new journey for co-director, Mark Goodall, he believes his strong family ties to the area of Oswestry and his valuable experience in logistics and management will help Visiting Angels North Shropshire deliver consistent and high-quality care to a community that means so much to him. With his sights set on building the reputation and trust of Visiting Angels in the same community that grew up as patrons of his nan’s local sweet shop, Aggie’s Candies, Mark believes he has the resources and understanding of the area to advance the care industry significantly for the residents of North Shropshire.

“I’m delighted to have found myself back in my mother’s hometown of Oswestry, which has taken me back to my good old childhood days. I have such fond memories of the area, and I believe my local knowledge will help establish Visiting Angels North Shropshire as a leading care provider to those in need. I can’t wait to see what the future of the in-home care industry holds for the brilliant people in our community.”
